The NSW Ecumenical Council is comprised of seventeen (Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox) Christian churches throughout New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. As churches together we are committed to a journey of peace and reconciliation for ourselves and our world, rediscovering our unity in the love of Christ in order that God's love and healing may be known to all. Being together enables us to know God more deeply, to express a common voice on issues of concern in society, and to work together on specific projects concerning the churches and the needs of the wider community. New World Comm_UNION_
On 18 June, the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) merged with the Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC) to form the World  Comm_UNION_ of Reformed Churches (WCRC). The new ecumenical body will group 227 member churches representing 80 million Christians in 108 countries.

Edinburgh 2010 conference explores new ecumenical stepping stones
Some 300 delegates from over 60 countries and virtually all Christian traditions attended Edinburgh 2010, a 2-6 June convocation held to honour the centenary of Edinburgh 1910 and consider means of witnessing to Christ today. 

New NSWEC Study Resource on Prayer available
Entitled Spending Time with God this prayer and discussion booklet is ideal for study/prayer groups in all kinds of settings.  Comprising of five sessions it includes information and questions for discussion and allows time for prayer.  The sessions can be used in any sequence and the resource is equally useable at any time in the liturgical year or during special periods such as Advent or Lent. 

Palestinian Christians urge protests by church groups
Palestinian Christian organizations have urged protests by church groups around the world against an Israeli assault on ships bringing aid to Gaza, which Israel says has led to the deaths of at least 10 activists on board the convoy.
