Overcoming Family Violence Commission Report
This commission has not met for more than a year as the focus has been on the family and domestic violence project. This commission met in August 2022 and has church representatives from the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, the Greek Orthodox Church and The Salvation Army. Wies Schuiringa is the convenor, Father Shenouda also attends as well as dc Oliver Slewa, the project officer. Between us, we have a very strong grounding and understanding of the dynamics in family and domestic violence.
We will meet again in September and look at what is happening and we could join on White Ribbon Day on 18 November and during the 16 days of action in the second half of November.
